End of the World (I Feel Fine)

Today was a mixed bag at best. I couldn't get Sherry Shriner's "Aliens in the News" and I think she may have discontinued it. Where are we going to find out what's really going on around here? Fox News!!??

I was able to listen to an archived broadcast of Rob McConnell's X-Zone Radio, and as usual he played one of my favorite songs:

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Truly inspired. Another great tune by R.E.M heard on McConnell's show today...

Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right.

You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light
feeling pretty psyched.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

Also inspired, if not inspiring. Something to keep us entertained while we sit here and wait for the other shoe to drop.

And we need to be entertained. We have come to feel it is a constitutional right, endowed on us by our Creator.

What is most of what we see on TBN and in most of our churches if it is not entertainment? It is certainly NOT preaching in the sense that you would have expected from Paul, Peter, John, or any of the first century apostles! It is specifically designed NOT to make anyone uncomfortable, but, on the contrary, to make people feel good about themselves, and to feel, well, entertained. How else are you going to keep them coming back when there is so much competition?

If God had a name, what would it be
And would you call it to his face
If you were faced with him in all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question

And as always, have a nice day!
